GEW 98 Mauser Sniper 8mm Used

Recently built by a sniper enthusiast. NICE BORE! This 8 mm Mauser is built upon a dual date, Gew 98 Mauser. The Barrel is a Nazi marked WW 2 barrel. Late war cupped butt plate, WW 1 floor plate and trigger guard. This rifle was inspired by the German ZF 39 sniper rifles. The scope is an Oigee, steel tube scope marked Berlin. It has ultra fine cross hairs with a centered dot reticule. The mounts are European manufactured duel claw mounts. The bolt has had a relief cut taken from the handle for scope clearance. The stock has finger grasping grooves added. German snipers not only fielded rifles with military manufactured and coded components during the war. They also pressed hunting scopes into service. This rifle is a recently assembled representative of those sniper rifles.
