Springfield 1903 Target Sniper Rifle 307331 Used

Veteran 1903 Springfield target/sniper rifle with a Winchester A 5 scope. This old war horse has a 1910 Springfield receiver (drilled for a receiver site as a target rifle) with Rock Island 1918 barrel. Shiny, good bore. The finger-groove stock is Rock Island marked. The Winchester A 5 scope has original Winchester marked micrometer mounts that have been altered to provide a lower profile on the rifle for a better "cheek weld" to the stock when firing. Rifles similar to this were often used for team competitions before and after the first world war. The Marine Corps also drew similar rifles rifles for deployment as snipers late in the first world war and at the outset of world war two. This weapon was recently assembled from all authentic period components by a seasoned Springfield collector/enthusiast.
